Skully AR-1 is no more.

Postby Dragonglide » Mon Aug 08, 2016 6:33 pm

I was reading an article yesterday that state the Skully company has filed for bankruptcy. Kind of sad. The product looked like it had a lot of potential. I was certainly interested in this helmet. But at the pricepoint, I simply could not afford it. And Thankfully, I was not able to put a deposit on one as with the bankruptcy, they will most likely not refund any money.

Big bummer. Anyone here actually put a deposit on one?

I wondered what you were talking about until I searched.

Looks like they raised a lot of pre-order monies before they shut down. I guess all those that pre-ordered are in limbo.

Looks like a very interesting helmet concept. I might have considered a pre-order had I known about it.

At the same website they listed other interesting helmets. That's where I first got my sticker-shock at what the Skully AR-1 was selling for. Ouch!

The link is 10 months old so it could be stale by now.

Sorry Ryck, didn't see your reply there.

As a lot of us ride long distance and such, the concept was a great idea. The sticker shock got me too. It just priced itself way out of my ability to afford it. You can't put a price on your head, but you can put a price on trinkets.
